Listening to album highlights like “Black Rice”, it’s not hard to describe Women’s pounding, jangly, guitar pop sound as an enjoyable cross between the Velvet Underground and the hiss and fuzz of modern noise rock, though they could benefit from a little more of the former and a little less of the latter.
