Scott Weiland - Happy in Galoshes

Far more mainstream and less experimental than Weiland’s debut 12 Bar Blues, Happy is also that much less interesting, and aside from an interesting remake of David Bowie’s “Fame” mostly hearkens back to the more odd (and completely unremarkable) melodic pop of Stone Temple Pilots.

“Killer” keyboard: The Casio keyboard beat on “Arch Angel” might cause you to kill someone. Just a warning.

He’s no Gwen Stefani: Members of No Doubt comprise Weiland’s backing band, but the instrumentation is so sparse at times you’d never know it.

Grade: 1.9 / 5
