Black Lips – 200 Million Thousand

February 16th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Album reviews, News

Black Lips further differentiate themselves from today’s pack of dirty, lo-fi, garage rockers with their absolute dedication to real, tactile, filth – particularly on tracks like the Velvet Underground-style pop song “Starting Over”, the theatrically sinister “Trapped in the Basement”, and album climax “I Saw God”, highlighted by its expletive-laden trailer park monologue.

Guns N’ Roses Chinese Democracy to hit Best Buy on 11/23

October 10th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in News

Billboard has some great news for fans of Guns N’ Roses and oft-delayed albums (and Dr. Pepper)…

More than a decade after its conception, Guns N’ Roses’ “Chinese Democracy” will finally see the light of day before year’s end, sources close to the situation confirm to Billboard. As first reported here, the set will be a Best Buy exclusive and will be available Sunday, Nov. 23, rather than the usual Tuesday.

Dr. Pepper has announced that if the album is released by the end of the year, everyone in America will be entitled to a free can of the soda.

We wouldn’t be surprised if the soda has also been sitting on a shelf for ten years.

Naughty By Nature Reunites For New Album

October 9th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in News

Rap has-beens Naughty By Nature are reuniting for a new album.

As for what fans can expect musically, Kay Gee explains, “We’re going to make universal party tracks with great hooks; street anthems, social and political anthems, anthems for the ladies. Nothing has changed from that standpoint. But we’re not 19-20 anymore, so things will be a little different lyrically. We don’t want to make a record that sounds like we’re just trying to chase 15-year-olds. We do want to appeal to them but at the same time, we want the music to be natural and comfortable for us.”

Maybe they can call it O.P.Zzzzzzzzzz.
