Cansei de Ser Sexy – Donkey

Astoundingly uninspired and far from sexy, it’s quite surprising to hear these sassy Brazilian electro-rockers churn out such a yawn-inducing collection of repetitive and boring dance punk tunes.
Fade to black: For a band whose debut was so fun and unexpected, the songs on Donkey are extremely standard. The typical format of nearly every song on the album is composed of a short, repetitive chorus, a short, repetitive, dirty riff, (rarely) some short, repetitive verses, and a bland fade-out, as if they’re so complacent that they can’t even find the motivation to break the repetition and think of a decent ending. Disappointing.
